Scaling up Farmer Field Business School

Project Focus:

The project will focus on building the production capacity of farmer groups, and producer marketing groups and support them to access input and output markets, advisory services as well as financial services from the government and other financial institutions. Project Goal:

The scaling up Farmer Field Business School (SUFFBS) project aims at increasing food, nutrition security, and increased incomes of vulnerable women and girls in Uganda, by influencing government structures and non-state actors using the Farmer Field Business School (FFBS) model to engage targeted communities in more sustainable ways of farming as a business.

Geographical ScopeKyenjonjo and Kyegegwa Districts targeting lower administrative units of 27 sub-counties and 7 town councils within the two districts.

Beneficiary Target:

Direct Target: 90,820 people

Indirect Target: 663,280 people          (70% women and 30% men)

Globally: The project is implemented in 18 countries including Uganda

JESE’s scope of work will majorly concentrate on pathways 1 & 2

Project Outcomes:

Outcome 1: 419 PMGs and 20 LPGs capacitated in gender transformative and sustainable agricultural practices.

Outcome 2: Increase in producers’ net income and reduce food loss and waste
