Engaging Farmers in the restoration of the Kibaale – Itwara – Matiri elephant corridor (SPA)

This project targets farmers adjacent to the Kibaale-Itwara – Matiri elephant corridor in Kyenjojo district. The project seeks to build the capacity of farmers adjacent to Itwara and Matiri central forest reserve (CFR) to adopt restoration practices for the degraded elephant corridor using agroforestry approaches. Among the key activities are the establishment of tree nursery beds to raise some tree species for the promotion of agro-forestry farming, improved household income, and household food security.

Objective

To contribute to sustainable regeneration, Restoration, management, conservation, and increased income of communities adjacent to the Kibale- Itwara and Matiri elephant corridor.

Goal

Communities adjacent to the Kibale- Itwara and Matiri elephant corridor contribute to sustainable regeneration, Restoration, management, and conservation and have increased income.
