Rose Kyohangirwe Success Story
I would intentionally make this page visually different because it is a human-impact story, not an institutional project report.
Rose’s story documents her progression from severe household financial difficulty to saving, farming, business ownership and community leadership.
She later became a Community-Based Trainer and vice chairperson of a Producer Marketing Group.
Rose Kyohangirwe's Journey From Struggle to Community Leadership
How agricultural knowledge, saving and determination helped transform a household and inspire a community.
A Family Struggling to Make Ends Meet
Rose Kyohangirwe describes a period when her family had little income, no land for farming and struggled to meet basic household needs.
Her journey began to change after her farmer group was mobilised and introduced to agricultural training, demonstration farming and financial literacy.
Small Savings, Big Possibilities
Through a Village Savings and Loan Association, Rose began saving UGX 2,000 every week. By the end of a savings cycle, she had accumulated UGX 1 million, which she used to establish a small refreshments business.
Growing Together as a Family
Rose's progress extended beyond the farm. She and her husband began saving and planning together, invested in land and expanded their household businesses.
Her experience demonstrates how agricultural knowledge and financial literacy can influence not only income but household cooperation, decision-making and long-term planning.
From Participant to Community-Based Trainer
Rose was later selected as a Community-Based Trainer, helping other women learn improved farming, saving and household cooperation. She also became vice chairperson of the Kigambo Producer Marketing Group.
